Almost at the end of Wimbledon and still going with my tennis theme. The Air Trainer 1 is most definitely a classic designed by none other than Tinker Hatfield. This was a cross training shoe that translated so well into being an effective tennis court shoe. In many circles the Air Trainer 1 was known as the McEnroe but it was also worn by other big time tennis players such as Andre Agassi, Vitas Gerulaitis and Mats Wilander. But they weren’t limited to tennis players; Bo knows and Bo wore them too. And the colourway was killer too the mix of grey, black and white with the chlorophyll touches. And that killer strap that has to be rocked outside of the loop. I had to get these when they retroed, another piece of sneaker history. Oh and I chucked in some shots of the original Mac himself wearing the Air Trainers on court just for good measure.
