Dubbed as a “T-shirt for the foot,” the running shoe featured a futuristic design, the initial idea came about in 1996 but it wasn’t until 2000 that the shoe actually became a reality. The final hurdle was finding the right material for the upper.
From there, Nike began the unconventional naming process to the silhouette’s colourways. There was “Catfight Shiner” and “Trouble at Home,” the “Abdominal Snowman” and the “Rabid Panda,” each accompanied by playful illustrations that gave the shoe added character.
The Presto has been coming back recently with OG reissues and some dope new colourways of the original feet t-shirts but the combination of Nike’s Flyknit tech on the Presto silhouette is a winner for us and we’re very much looking to the drop.
The Nike Air Presto Ultra Flyknit is available on the Nike SNKRS App on April 28, and globally at nike.com/sportswear and select Nike retailers on May 5.
