With sneakerheads still recovering from the Nike x Supreme Foamposite launch in London, last night saw the packed-out launch of the Saucony x Offspring collab at Offspring’s Shoreditch store.
Saucony have teamed up with Offspring to drop 2 fresh cuts on the brand’s iconic Shadow 6000, taking their influence from classic colours from the Saucony archive and from the streets of London’s Covent Garden. And for the first time ever Saucony Originals is dropping a fully unisex collaboration, with both colourways being available in both Men’s and Women’s sizes. So no one or their foot is being left out on this one.
Inspired by the ‘We Run’ slogan found on the boxes of Saucony’s performance running shoes, the name “Running Since ‘96” pays homage to the year Offspring launched their first store on Neal Street in Covent Garden, just yards from where they now share a space with the Saucony ‘Story of Running’ pop-up store.
Now we know that Footpatrol straight up killed this silhouette last year with the ‘Only in Soho’ makeup and the materials are seriously premium on these also. Utilising pig skin suede, with a 3m reflective tongue the colours used in designing the two colourways take inspiration from the prevalent colours in Saucony’s rich archives – neon pink highlights the Saucony three dots logos and across the tongue detail whilst turquoise and teal are seen across both shoes, with the shoes’ grey base colour taking inspiration directly from the cobbled streets of Covent Garden which surround Neal Street.
These beauties are dropping tomorrow….do we sense another campout? Either that or a very early start. They’ll be available from all Offspring stores nationwide from 10am GMT TOMORROW Saturday the 5th of April, and Offspring.co.uk from 10am GMT on Monday the 7th of April.
