I guess when it comes to kicks for most of here at TWOTF there often aren’t kicks without caps and we are big New Era fans from way back in the ’90s when we got introduced to the Yankees New Era on trips across the pond to the Big Apple.

And don’t get it twisted the New Era cap has never lost it’s relevance whether on the heads on avid Stateside sports fans or as part of the London uniform. And for us the New York Yankees New Era is a global headwear icon.

With the ‘Designed in Japan’ pack East meets West as New Era’s Japanese design team look to America’s most influential baseball state for inspiration, New York the focus of this latest collection. Club logos old and new step forward, the New York Highlanders, the New York Yankees, the Brooklyn Dodgers and, intriguingly, the LA Dodgers. This west coast icon traces its origins back to Brooklyn, formerly known as the Atlantics, the team would officially adopt the ‘Dodgers’ name in the 1930s, an ode to the locals who fearlessly weaved in and out of the cities streetcar traffic. In 1958 club owner Walter O’Malley would move the team to Hollywood, lured by the prospect of developing baseball on the West Coast. Finding dizzying success far from home, the LA Dodgers still fondly remember their Brooklyn roots, the story of those early days serves as a reminder of New York’s vast contribution to the game.

In recognition of New York’s enduring influence, three distinct packs have been crafted from premium fabrics. So of course Chris from the team and Franklin AKA King of Trainers we had to take these amazing NY New Eras from the ‘Designed in Japan’ pack onto the streets of London town for a quick shoot. Such a dope pack we picked a couple favourites but we also have the all black NY and LA ones in our current rotation.

Hard to separate the head from the feet so we won’t try. Shouts to the New Era family we keep ‘em firmly fitted on our crowns.
