Nike Risk Your Sole…London Event Recap

RISK EVERYTHING!

Oh boy so it all went down to the wire last night at Nike’s Phenomenal House at what used to be the old Post Office sorting office on New Oxford St in London. Nike have really put together an amazing space for their RISK EVERYTHING week so if you didn’t make it down last night go and check it out, there’s still some events going on up until Saturday. Check it out HERE.

But back to the BIG Risk Your Sole Showdown. Last night the teams that took part in the Risk Your Sole online sneaker battle took to a 4-a-side football cage to battle it out. Some interesting rules; it was a winner stays on affair with 2 goals bringing victory, but with the added twist that when one team scored the other team lost a player. Matches rolled out non-stop for over an hour with points awarded for victory and then the overall winner being the team with the most points.

Injuries struck the Sneaker Battle Victors Icon ’87 team and The Word on the Feet favourites, whilst the 1948 crew looked unstoppable and looked like leaving the competition in their wake. The Niketown Rangers looked worn out, probably from all the Nike campouts and restocks. And whilst Size? and Offspring definitely looked lack lustre in the Sneaker Battle they battled hard in the cage. Slammin’ Kicks and SneakersnStuff battled hard too but in the end it was the transplanted Swedes that kept the goals coming to take the victory.

So then the choice of prize came down to that pick and mix of some of the most exclusive kicks on the planet….whether to take the lot or a mystery prize. The SNS deliberated for a hot minute and chose mystery and what a PRIZE!!! A trip to Nike HQ in Oregon with exclusive access to the Nike archives. Once in a lifetime kinda ish!

All in all a great event and BIG UPS to Nike, all the teams and all those that came out to support. Click through our pics from the event and check out the action!
