From the Big Smoke to the Big Apple – NYC tour recap

So we’ve been recovering after a whirlwind tour of New York that saw ourselves, King of Trainers and Crep Junkie cross the pond from London to New York and linked up with out sneaker crew out in the Big Apple; thecamp0ut, Dallas Penn, sh0eicide.squad, mr_briggz . We have to say a massive thank you to Forcefield NYC the amazing sneaker protector for making the trip happen and all the team, we really appreciate it.

So we started by checking out Sneaker Con dubbed ‘The Greatest Sneaker Show on Earth’ and the team hit the Jacob Javits center in Manhattan both days to check out the show. So much Yeezy in the building and Jays too proof that Jordan brand is alive and kicking in NYC. But there was so much dopeness from basketball court action, lego jordans, organic sneakers, vintage clothing and independent streetwear. We bumped into a bunch of your favourite sneakerheads too including Foamer Simpson, Mache, Ben Boomin, even Sean Paul was in there checking out the show. Huge the show was and NYC prob the hugest out of all the Sneaker Cons.

Monday took us around the city checking out New York’s sneaker spots. We made it up to Fat Joe’s brand spanking new UP NYC and the space was sick with plenty of heat in store and some dope apparel too along with a selection from Joe’s own collection on display.

Then we hit Supreme which was buzzing but no pics as like here in London there’s a no pic, no video policy in store. Err middle finger up to that we love Supreme but sorry not sorry.

Next we hit the Broadway Kith which just seems to be growing and growing with an amazing Nike space up front and the cereal bar in the middle serving up cereal in a dope shoebox. In the back are more brands, the most amazing wall made up of like a million Kith pencils and collab upon collab from Beats by Dre, wallets, shades and just about anything one could think of. And then onto Stadium Goods which was just mind blowing wall to wall to ceiling kicks, kicks and more kicks.

Before we headed back to London on Tuesday we were out on Election Day at Extra Butter on the Lower Eastside for the ‘For the People’ Saucony drop. An amazing project from Extra Butter that allowed us to vote for collab colours, designs and materials and as the pics show the finished product was so sick.

The time was most definitely too short and we need to head back very soon. Shouts to all our Stateside crew for making it a memorable trip, check out the pics below and shouts to everyone that followed the tour on our social media.
