Whoah all we have to say is Complexcon California was straight FIYAH!!! First we have to say massive shouts to Puma and especially the crew from the Puma UK office for bringing us out to the Cali for the event. This was probably the biggest and most SWISH sneaker and streetwear event that we have attended and we have to say that everything was on point, from the brand displays in the Long Beach Convention Centre, just outside of LA, to the outside areas, and the selection of topics and panelists for the talks, and of course the live acts that performed at the event.

First of all and once again shouts to Puma who created a killer space alongside Chinatown Market featuring fairground games with the chance to win one of four exclusive SE Cycles bikes (come on classic, classic ish!), a special double drop of footwear for the event… those pink joints though… and an incredible clothing customisation space! Absolutely killed it.

As for the rest of the space whilst some of the big guns such as Nike and Adidas were absent there were still some exclusive Nike drops and the atmos crew had the heads queuing hard and there were a bunch of event only exclusives that dropped with the heads literally running wild in the event to grab the kicks and merch. The LA-based celebs were literally just bopping around the space, like just chilling with a bunch of sneaker royalty that flew in too from outside LA! Shouts to the big dog DJ Clark Kent who shut it down in the AF1s. Henny was flowing and the outside food area was packed throughout the two days.

The talks were varied and subjects well chosen and the live music arena was buzzing throughout the day with DJ’s early on and a bunch of performers gracing the stage in the evening. This was and is definitely a big deal on the global sneaker event calendar and whilst we expected the US largeness the huge event space was well set out with a dope mix of big brands and upcoming peeps too. We had so many good convos with different folks and there was such a good vibe, straight up and down. And was a real pleasure to see Takashi Murakami strutting around the space – big up Complexcon for the early morning tour that ended with the big man himself coming to say hello to all of us.
